In the field of composite materials, Changzhou recognized the significance of this industry early on and became one of the earliest domestic cities to lay out carbon fiber and composite materials industrial parks. In recent years, Changzhou High-tech Zone has focused on innovation and continuous breakthroughs in the advanced carbon materials industry, fostering over 30 leading enterprises such as Zhongjian Technology, Xinchuang Carbon Valley, and Coteis, and gathering important scientific and technological innovation platforms like the Yangtze River Delta Carbon Fiber and Composite Materials Technology Innovation Center. At the same time, a number of production service institutions such as Damms Testing have also been established. In 2022, the total sales of this industry exceeded 15 billion yuan, accounting for more than 30% of the carbon fiber and composite materials industry in Jiangsu Province. Changzhou has been successfully approved as a National Torch Specialized Industrial Base for carbon fiber and composite materials and has been included in the national advanced manufacturing cluster.
The rapid development of the composite materials industry in Changzhou fully demonstrates the region's high regard and practice for innovative development. Changzhou has continuously enhanced the technological level and competitiveness of the composite materials industry through measures such as establishing innovation platforms, strengthening cooperation among industry, academia and research, and cultivating professional talents, achieving remarkable development results and setting an example for the industry.
During the forum, Secretary-General Meng Yijie of the China Composites Industry Association also attended the industrial and technological matchmaking event held with the Taiwan Composites Industry Association and had a cordial and friendly discussion with Secretary-General Zhao Jue of the Taiwan Association. Both sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the development, technological innovation, talent cultivation and market expansion of the composite materials industry across the Taiwan Strait, and reached a series of cooperation intentions.
Through cooperation with the Taiwan Composite Materials Industry Association, the China Composite Materials Industry Association will further broaden its horizons, enhance its influence and service capabilities. Both sides will jointly commit to promoting the prosperity and development of the composite materials industry across the Taiwan Strait, driving the industry towards a new stage of high-quality development, and making contributions to the integrated economic development of both sides.
