Swancor Advanced Materials actively participated in the high-quality Conference on the recycling and Reuse of composite materials such as wind turbine blades in China
Release Time: 2024-12-11

On December 6, 2024, organized by the China Materials Recycling Association and hosted by the Fiber Composite Materials Recycling Branch of the China Materials Recycling Association, The 2024 Third China High-Quality Conference on the Recycling and Reuse of Composite Materials Such as Wind Turbine Blades was held in Beijing, co-organized by the China Fiberglass Industry Association, the Professional Committee for the Recycling and Utilization of Decommissioned Wind and Solar Equipment of the China Circular Economy Association, and the Professional Committee for the Recycling of Foamed Materials of the China Materials Recycling Association. The conference, with the theme of "Great Changes, Great Opportunities, Great Development", focused on the construction of a circular system, enhancing the scale, intensification and high value of the recycling industry, exploring sustainable business models, and promoting the effective matching of resource recycling capacity with the scale of decommissioning. The conference put forward the expectation that in the future, enterprises can develop in the field of orderly recycling of raw materials such as wind turbine blades in a direction that is technologically accessible, economically feasible, risk-controllable, market-tolerant and model transferable. In the future, the recycling and utilization of decommissioned wind power will gradually be incorporated into local environmental protection standards at the policy level, with clear regulations covering the entire process of dismantling and utilization.

As one of the drafting units of the "Technical Specification for Recycling of Composite Materials for Wind Turbine Generators" (to be implemented in July 2024), Swancor Advanced Materials actively participated in the conference and contributed to high-quality development with concrete actions. In 2022, Swancor Advanced Materials released a revolutionary product: recyclable thermosetting resin. Wind turbine blades made from recyclable thermosetting resin can be degraded, recycled and reused after retirement. The entire degradation and recycling process is simple and low-carbon, and no longer generates waste gas or wastewater. At present, Swancor's recyclable thermosetting resin has passed the SGS and ISO14021 certifications, and the recovery rate of composite materials can be ≥95%. Recyclable resin has been mass-produced for wind turbine blades abroad and has also been used in cooperation with two well-known enterprises in China. In addition to wind turbine blades, recyclable resins can also be applied in multiple fields such as dry-type transformers, pressure vessels, rail transit, and sports equipment.

Swancor Advanced Materials looks forward to jointly exploring the recycling and reuse technologies of composite materials such as wind turbine blades with experts and enterprises in the industry, and contributing to the realization of the carbon neutrality goal. Let's join hands and move forward together, embracing the new opportunities of green development in the wave of new energy!
