Recently, the TMT86A type blades made of EzCiclo recyclable thermosetting resin, a collaboration between Times New Material and Swancor New Material, successfully rolled off the production line in Hunan. This blade is 86 meters long and marks a brand-new breakthrough in the trial production of large-blade type blades for the first time by EzCiclo recyclable thermosetting resin of Swancor Advanced Materials. It also indicates that the process of jointly developing innovative materials for wind turbine blades by Times New Materials and Swancor Advanced Materials has significantly accelerated.

Before the trial production, the R&D and technical personnel of Swancor conducted technical coordination with the technical team of Times New Material and carried out a large amount of technical reserve work, laying a solid foundation for the smooth and successful production of the blades.

At the trial production site, Chen Huang, deputy director of the Development Center of the Wind Power Division of Times New Material, said: "The EzCiclo recyclable thermosetting resin material from Swancor is a new energy-saving, low-carbon and recyclable product, which increases the possibility of material reuse and recycling." In the process of achieving its goals, Swancor has provided high-quality and reliable product solutions for Times New Material. Times New Material also hopes to join hands with Swancor's supply support of high-quality, advanced and environmentally friendly raw materials to offer more high-quality solutions to customers and help China's wind power industry reach a new level.

The newly developed "EzCiclo Easy Recyclable" thermosetting epoxy resin by Swancor, which can be applied to wind turbine blades, is currently available for use in the blade casing, girders, webs and blade components. The wind turbine blade composite material components made of "EzCiclo Easy Recyclable" can be recycled and degraded when they reach the end of their service life. Through the "CleaVER Instant Decomposition" technology, the waste is transformed into recycled fibers and oligomers. The recycled fibers can be sorted and reused to make glass fiber and carbon fiber composite materials again. The entire degradation and recycling process is simple and low-carbon. The recovery rate of composite materials can reach ≥95%.

The "EzCiclo Easy Recycling and CleaVER Instant Recycling Technology Project" of Swancor won the 2022 SAMPE China Innovation Award in the Materials category.
